TS16949
We, Kenwood Electronics Technologies (M) Sdn. Bhd (KETM), located in Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia, have obtained ISO/TS16949: 2002 certification from the International Organization for Standardization for quality management system in the automotive sector.
ISO/TS16949 is an international standard for quality management system in the automotive industry.
The certification acquired by KETM factory is expected to greatly contribute to developing Kenwood Car Electronics business.

We "made organization which consist of 30 person to get TS certification and we did 20 times of consultancy and training. Finally we managed to reach pre audit about half a year" and achieve the ISO/TS 16949 within a year.
We are facing some difficulties during preparation of ISO/TS16949.

We considered how to reduce Designers involvement in the audit because the certification was including design processes.Finally designer was not involved in KETM audit due to KENWOOD HQ as been achieved to get the ISO/TS 16949 certification before KETM,

Why KETM needs to get ISO/TS 16949 and yet KETM is not the OEM Factory?
If we can get the ISO/TS 16949 certificate, it is one of the motivation for us
and KETM can produce many OEM model too. |

Difficulties to arrange training for the participant member and because the member was busy on their current job. We delayed to prepare the document by targeted date,but finally we achieved the target. |
KETM was not able to achieve without the growth of the National staff and also we couldn’t achieve it except cooperation from KENWOOD Japan HQ.
